It will be just ten days since Bromley met Tuesday evening’s opponents, Chesterfield, in the first of this season’s Vanarama National League fixtures against the Derbyshire side as they visit Hayes Lane for the return fixture, kick-off 7.45 pm.
Originally scheduled for the 9th January, the game was postponed due to Covid-19 virus. In the away fixture just over a week ago, Bromley repeated last season’s 2-1 victory score line with Michael Cheek and Joe Kizzi on target for the Ravens.
The win means that Bromley are unbeaten in the five fixtures against today’s opponents since they joined the National League for the start of the 2018/19 season.
In two previous visits to Hayes Lane, Chesterfield drew the first one 3-3 on 12 March 2019, and last season Bromley gained a narrow 2-1 victory on 7 September 2019 when Michael Cheek scored both Bromley goals.
Our visitors have dropped points in their last three fixtures: at home to Bromley last Saturday week, and last Tuesday evening at home to FC Halifax Town both by the same 2-1 score line; whilst last Saturday away to Wrexham they fought out a 0-0 draw at the Racecourse.
As a result of these results, Chesterfield have dropped out of the playoff spots, and now occupy 8th position in the League table with 53 points with eight games to complete going into Tuesday’s fixture.
