Smith adds Williamson to squad

Bromley Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of forward Ben Williamson from Eastleigh.

The Lambeth born front man did feature for the Ravens in pre-season back in the summer of 2017, and scored in a 2-1 win over a Crystal Palace XI.

Since then, Williamson has represented fellow National League side Eastleigh, helping them into the playoffs last season. The 30 year old has a wealth of Football League experience. Having started his career with Worthing, before spells with AFC Bournemouth, Hyde, Port Vale, Gillingham and Cambridge United, before making the move to the South Coast.

Williamson was delighted to make the move to Hayes Lane; “I had a short spell here during pre-season a couple of years ago, and I’ve kept in touch with Neil ever since. I’m delighted to be here, and my first day back has been great as I know a few of the boys already.”

Manager Neil Smith has had his eyes on Williamson for a while, and was equally pleased to finally get his man; “We enquired about Ben more in hope than expectation to be honest! It’s a position we’ve been looking to fill for a while now and Ben comes with the experience we need. I’d like to thank Paul Emerson, one of our scouts, who’s watched Ben for many years now and has helped us in this process.”

Ben will take the number 18 shirt and is available for Saturday’s trip to Sutton United, subject to FA approval.
