Bromley Football Club were delighted to welcome Riverside School to Hayes Lane on Wednesday, as they kick started our brand new Special Schools Partnership project, supported by the National League Trust!
Pupils from both the School’s Beckenham and Orpington sites were welcomed onto our FA Certified 3G pitches for their first training session, and coach Ian put them through their paces with an agility based warm-up, before some teamwork drills took place. Pupils were then asked if they’d like to play a match, and the response was a resounding yes!
Steve Day, PE co-ordinator at Riverside School commented; “Our first session at Bromley FC was truly sensational and the students absolutely loved it. This scheme underlines how important community relationships are and how vital the funding from the National League Trust really is. With the support of Bromley FC and the National League Trust it will help us to continue transforming the lives of our children and their families. From those involved with Riverside School, from the students, families, and staff we are truly grateful that this scheme has been set up and we look forward to a bright future.”
We’d like to thank the National League Trust for their support, which has enabled us to run this project.
