Bromley played host to former Football League outfit Notts County at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon, with the Ravens looking to extend their unbeaten run to 12 games.

It wasn’t long before the hosts took the lead. In only the second minute of the game Luke Coulson broke through down the left and cut the ball back to an unmarked Alfie Doughty, whose first time strike found the roof of the net for his first goal for the club.

The Ravens almost doubled their lead ten minutes in. A Coulson corner found the head of Joe Kizzi but he was unable to keep his effort below the crossbar.

On the half hour mark the County skipper Mitch Rose lost possession in the Bromley half and Coulson was able to break away. His final pass however took Doughty a little wider than he would’ve liked, and the following cross was easily claimed by Sam Slocombe.

Bromley were pegged back ten minutes before half time, with what was their second real chance. Kyle Wootton found himself in space on the edge of box and unleashed an excellent right footed shot into the far top corner. Mark Cousins stood  no chance in the Bromley goal.

Intricate passing between the County midfield and Kristian Dennis got a shot away from about 25 yards, testing the fingertips of Cousins who was able to tip the ball over the crossbar. However, nothing came of the resulting corner.

Good build up play down the left from Bromley as Coulson set up Billy Bingham on his favoured left foot, about 20 yards out but he wasn’t able to hit the target.

With 72 minutes on the clock Bromley were back in front. A Sam Wood cross was only cleared to substitute and debutant Shawn McCoulsky on the edge of the box, and he struck the ball on the half volley and watched it nestle in the top corner.

Bromley were able to close out the game with neither side creating any more clear cut chances. The Ravens extend their unbeaten run to twelve matches and go to the top of the table.
