Pickhurst Junior Academy, who represented Bromley FC in the National League U11s Cup, travelled to and from the tournament in the Club’s First Team VIP coach, provided by our friends at Anderson Travel.
The Club made a point of inviting parents to travel to Eastleigh FC with the team too, and a number of them did just that to support their sons.
The boys battled hard and were very impressive on the day, remaining undefeated and not conceding a goal until the Final. They beat Oxford City, Dagenham & Redbridge, Leyton Orient, Dulwich Hamlet and Torquay United, before losing out to Oxford City by just one goal in the final.
Although there was heartbreak at the end of it, the Club are incredibly proud of the boys, who performed so well to get to this stage and were very impressive on the day.
Head of PE Craig Belgrave commented; “It’s an unbelievable achievement for the boys to get this far. I can’t praise them enough, they’ve been absolutely brilliant! Each week they’ve got better and become stronger and they’ve really grown as a team. I’m so proud of them”.
Upon receiving support, and VIP transport from the Club, he added; “When the boys arrived at school in the morning I don’t think they could believe their eyes! All the other teams were arriving in cars and minibuses, and you had us in the VIP coach! It was a fantastic day and an unbelievable experience for the boys and it’s something they’ll remember for a long time”.
“Thank you to not only Anderson Travel for the coach, but also to Bromley Football Club for all they do for us, not only now but over the previous years to make this such a success”.
The boys have another tournament coming up soon, which the Club will be keeping a very close eye on. Good luck, boys!
