Match report: Wrexham 2-0 Bromley

Latest News

Bromley slipped to their second defeat on the bounce on Saturday as they fell to a 2-0 loss away at fellow promotion chasers Wrexham.

The Ravens were forced to play the majority of the game with 10 men as Liam Trotter was shown a straight red for a lunging challenge on nine minutes.

However, the Ravens nearly opened the scoring just past the half-hour mark when Chris Bush delivered a fantastic ball towards James Alabi, but the latter couldn’t convert.

It was to be the hosts who broke the dead-lock though, as Reece Hall-Johnson somehow beat Mark Cousins to find the net.

Luke Young nearly doubled their lead soon after, but he only saw his strike find the gloves of the Bromley ‘keeper.

The Ravens started off the second half on the front-foot and Bush had an effort fly just over the Wrexham bar in the early stages.

Despite Bromley’s pressure, Wrexham made it two as Paul Mullin was there at the back-post to bury home a corner.

The forward then struck an effort wide before both Jake Hyde and Bryce Hosannah hit the Bromley post.

Wrexham would go on to have two goals chalked off for offside before comfortably seeing out the three points.

It wasn’t to be for Andy Woodman’s men, but a special mention to the 66 travelling fans who braved the freezing conditions.

Attentions now turn to next Saturday as we host Wealdstone at 3pm and you can purchase your tickets now!
