Bromley’s defence of their Kent FA plate title continued with a hard fought game against a spirited Kent football United team.
With the wind against them in the first half Bromley struggled to retain possession but looked dangerous in each attack. Higginson in goal for Bromley made some fine saves from long range efforts. Bromley took the lead after a cross from Robertson was turned into her own net by a defender on the goal line. Robertson almost made it 2-0, but found her goal ruled narrowly offside. Bays also had a chance but shot wide after a run from deep.
The second half started with scrappy play from both teams. Kent equalised from a contentious free kick, the player found the top corner after it was laid to the side for her. With 20 minutes remaining Bromley piled on the pressure and created several chances. The game was seeming destined for extra time, until a long range effort from Morris was pushed round post for a corner. Robertson took the corner which found Holley on the edge of the six yard box and calmly found the back to score the winner.
