Adam Mekki has revealed his delight to be back with the squad following his injury that saw him miss the last seven months.
Mekki broke both his fibula and dislocated his ankle in Bromley’s 1-0 defeat to Eastleigh at Hayes Lane back in January.
Mekki began his return on Tuesday night when he come on from the bench in the Ravens 3-1 win against Ebbsfleet United.
The former Tranmere man revealed that “it was a weight of my shoulders” to come out of the other end of his horror injury.
The Ravens winger was full of gratitude to his players, coaching staff and backroom staff for his return to first team involvement. “ I want to say thank you to everyone who has helped me on the journey to get here, because it’s been a rollercoaster ride to say the least.”
After gaining minutes against Charlton in pre-season and Ebbsfleet in midweek, Mekki will look to add more minutes in his tank when Bromley host Torquay this Saturday in the National League.
Mekki isn’t reading too much into Torquay’s start to the season and knows that it’ll be no easy feat against the National League South Champions on Saturday. “It’s hard to judge a team on the first two games, but they’re on a high and made some great additions.”
