Bromley FC are sad to hear the passing of Former Manager Dave Edwards following a long battle against Alzheimers aged 67.
Dave played for most of the senior Clubs in the West Essex/East Herts area primarily for Harlow Town in the 1970s. When he turned to management, he was successful straightaway leading Essex Senior Leaguers Stansted to triumph at Wembley when they won the FA Vase in 1984. He then had a long spell as manager of Harlow Town FC before becoming manager at other Clubs including Bishop’s Stortford 1996 to 1997, and Bromley from 1999 to 2000 where he worked with former club secretary Colin Russell. Speaking to Colin earlier he said “I liked Dave, he was the first manager I worked with when I became programme editor in 1999. He always had time for a chat and was very passionate about his football.”
His funeral is this Wednesday, 8th July, at 1pm at Harlow Crematorium followed afterwards by a gathering at Harlow Town FC.
