Bromley Football Club were privileged to have a presence at the St Nicholas Church Summer Camp recently.
The Church, based in Leamington Avenue, Orpington, were put in touch with the Club by 100+ Club co-ordinator and lifelong supporter John Richardson, and we jumped at the chance to help out!
The morning was focussed on the topic of team building, and Bromley first team player Kyle De Silva (below) was on hand to do a motivational talk, as well as highlighting the importance of teamwork as a footballer.
Kyle was also present as the children participated in a range of team building activities, and commented; “It was great to be able to visit and chat to the children. Our main topic of conversation was teamwork, and I explained how important it is in sport and how I’ve had to be a team player throughout my footballing career. We also spoke about how teamwork is about supporting each other, not just the individual.”
Reverend Stephen Broadie, from the Church, added; “We were delighted to have Bromley Football Club lead some sessions at our summer holiday club. Matt and Kyle led some excellent interactive sessions, with talks, games and activities. Matt was great at getting all the children and young people involved. Everyone really enjoyed it and learned loads about teamwork. We certainly hope to have Bromley FC back to lead more activities with our children’s groups.”
We were delighted to hear of the children’s enjoyment of the activities led by representatives, and look forward to working with St Nicholas’ Church again very soon!
The Club are actively looking to become involved with community groups and schools. Interested? Email email@example.com!
