The recently founded Bromley Belles enjoyed their first tournament as a team earlier this month, as they travelled to West Sussex to take part in the COGS’ (Crawley Old Girls) Inaugural National Women’s (over 30s) Recreational Football Festival.
The team excelled on their first outing as a group, eventually losing one fixture, drawing two and winning two. Goal scorers across the tournament included Lisa (2), Hannah (1) and Sue (1).
The team for the tournament was; Lisa, Hannah, Sue, Donna, Denise, Kerry, Ali, Andrea and Jo (with an average age of 44!).
Bromley Belles would like to extend their thanks to Carol Bates and Crawley COGS who organised the event, and their coaches Steve and Mandy, who supported the Belles at their first tournament.
Contratulations to the Belles, whose achievement is made even more impressive by the fact that several of the players had never played a competitive match before.
Their next tournament is with the Surrey FA, at Whyteleafe FC on Saturday 30th June. We wish the Bromley Belles the very best of luck, and look forward to seeing how they get on!
