Academy 7-0 Dover Athletic

Bromley FC - Bromley Academy

Bromley Blues Thrash Dover Athletic

Bromley Blues were far too strong for their Blue Square counterparts Dover Athletic where they inflicted a very heavy defeat beating their local rivals 7-0 at The Crabble home of Dover Athletic FC. Bromley who can still finish as runners up in the FCYA Premier Division started very quickly and soon got on top of their opponents with two early goals where Dan Hughes followed up as the GK failed to hold a shot and then Gary Webb cracked in a 25 yard free kick in to the bottom corner. Bromley FC continued to dominate the game where they were really effective in their attacking play and it was no surprise to see Ben Small score the third just before half time to go into the break 3-0 up.

If the first half was good the 2nd half started and became even better as the Blues continued to drive forwards almost at will. Quadir Maynard capped a fine display with two well-taken goals and Stefan Wright completed an excellent individual performance from centre midfield with a well taken goal with another Ben Small effort in-between. In defence it was the strength and dominance of Ryan Dawkins who was voted man of the match and Nicos Spencer at centre-back that gave the team a real solid platform to play off. It was an excellent team performance from all the players who demonstrated a very positive approach to the game and showed the development and progress they have all made whilst at the Academy. Aaron Rhule displayed the potential he undoubtedly has, playing with all the experience he has had gained over the season with a really good all-round display. All the players were extremely pleased with their afternoons work and showed what can be achieved on a real going day and with the improved goal difference also helping the Blues who currently sit in 3rd position.

Bromley Blues have two remaining home fixtures left where they entertain Histon from the Blues Square Conference North on Tuesday 8th May and then host local rivals Dartford in the final game of the season on Wednesday 15th May with both games KO 2.00PM at Bromley FC.
