Bromley Blues manage a draw away to AFC Sudbury.
Bromley Blues succumbed to a 2-2 draw at AFC Sudbury in their recent FCYA Premier Division fixture after giving away a two goal lead in the final minutes of the game. Bromley were in control for most of the first half but failed to take several clear cut chances where they found the opposing GK in good form. Bromley did not create the number of chances that their domination of the half deserved going in 0-0 at the break.
The second half again saw the “Blues” put AFC Sudbury under more pressure and this time Arron Rhule took his chance by slipping the ball under the advancing GK. The game continued in the same vein with Bromley looking for a second goal which came15 minutes from time. Ben Small followed up after a good save from Ehis Izokuns effort to put Bromley well in control. However to the great credit of their opponents AFC Sudbury never gave up and put the Blues goal under real pressure by scoring from a free kick and then quickly equalising from a corner. Bromley struggled to deal with a more direct approach to see the game finish with a 2-2 draw. Although the players were disappointed that they had let two points slip, the game could have been lost in final hectic minutes but they still maintain their challenge for the league and at this stage every point on the run in will be prove to be important.
The game saw some changes to the recent line up with several players out where Jordon Catterhall took his opportunity in the centre of midfield with a solid performance. Bromley continue their FCYA League fixtures with another journey away to Blue Square counterparts Havant & Waterlooville tomorrow.
Bromley Whites saw their recent good performances turn into a deserved 3-1 victory against local rivals Welling Utd. The younger players turned in a very positive and determined display against more senior opponents. Centre forward Zi Lungu kept up his good form with two well taken goals where he made a really good impression playing as a lone striker and midfielder Edward Boateng scoring his first goal. The Whites also play tomorrow where they are away at local neighbours Dulwich Hamlet.
