Away day guide: Erith & Belvedere
|
21 July 2011

Park View Road has been Welling United’s home since 1977 when they took over the ground which had been vacated by the defunct Bexley United. Having been unoccupied for some time it was almost derelict at the time. Erith and Belvedere FC have been ground sharing since 1999. Since arriving at Park View Road, Erith and Belvedere have seen the construction of a brand new stand, opposite the existing one.
Directions:
By Road: If you are travelling from anywhere other than Kent, take the M25 to Junction 2. At the roundabout, take the A2 towards Central London. Following this, leave the A2 at the third exit (Danson Interchange, signposted A221 to Bexleyheath and Sidcup).
Turn right (second exit) at the roundabout at the end of the slip road, and then turn right (third exit) at the next roundabout. Go under the A2 bridge and up the slope to another roundabout. Take the second exit and follow the road (Danson Road) to the traffic lights at the end. Turn left at the lights onto Park View Road. The ground is on the left. There is no car park, but plenty of street parking is available.
By Rail: The nearest station is Welling. Off-peak trains leave half hourly from both London Victoria and London Charing Cross (also calling at Waterloo East and London Bridge).
From the station, go down the slope to the road at the bottom. Turn left and go to the end of the road. Turn left onto Bellegrove Road. This becomes Welling High Street and then Park View Road. The ground is on the right just after the Guy, Earl of Warwick pub; 15-20 minutes walk. Supporters are also advised that they can catch a 51 bus which starts from Orpington Station and calls at Orpington High Street as well as travelling near St Paul’s Cray. Travellers are advised to get off at Welling Station and follow the above directions.
